When Should I Rotate My Tires?

Tire Rotations

A great time to rotate your tires is during each oil change, assuming you have that done at least once a year. It’s a good idea to have them done more than that if you’re driving more than 10,000 miles a year.

Unless you drive fewer than about 7,500 miles per year, you should probably rotate tires every six months or so. At Hastings Ford Lincoln, we provide the tire rotation as part of The Works which includes an oil change, brake inspection, tire rotation, and more.

The drive wheels will incur more tread wear, due to the power being applied to them by the engine. Front wheel drive cars amplify this effect even more, due to the extra weight of the engine and transmission. By rotating the tires every few months, you can reduce the uneven wear. This is no different for all-wheel-drive cars also recommend rotating tires.

Performance models may have different schedules for tire rotation. We suggest you follow the recommended schedule outlined in your owner's manual, but rotate the tires (and change the oil) at least once a year. If you want to be sure, consult a certified technician and your local Hastings Ford Lincoln.
